Pocket doors conceal much of their hardware inside the wall cavity. Common symptoms include rubbing, swinging at the bottom, coming off a hanger, stopping before fully opening, or failing to meet the jamb latch.
The visible opening tells only part of the story. Top rollers or hangers carry the door, a guide controls side movement, stops limit travel, and the frame must leave enough clearance. Loose hardware can move beyond easy reach inside the pocket.
Repair planning includes identifying available access. Some systems allow hardware service after trim removal; others require a carefully planned opening. We avoid promising “no wall work” until the construction is understood.
Can a pocket door be lifted back onto the track?
Sometimes, but repeated derailment indicates a hanger, stop, guide, track, or alignment problem that should be corrected.
Describe the door’s behavior in the form below and request a pocket-door inspection.
