Screen doors are light, but their frames and roller systems are easy to distort. A screen that drags may have packed debris, weak spring rollers, a bent frame, torn mesh pulling unevenly, or a damaged guide. Forcing it can bend the corners and make a simple roller problem harder to correct.
Cleaning and adjustment are appropriate when the frame is square and wheels remain sound. Torn mesh can often be replaced while preserving the frame. A severely bowed frame, broken corner, or incompatible old hardware may make a new screen panel more practical.
Fit is important. The panel must stay captured in the upper and lower channels, clear the primary glass door, and latch without being forced. Mesh selection should match airflow, visibility, pets, and durability needs rather than being presented as one universal product.
Why does my screen keep falling out?
Collapsed rollers, insufficient engagement, bent framing, wrong panel height, or damaged track guides are common possibilities.
