Tracks are profiles, not simply strips of metal. The rail height determines how the wheel sits; the surrounding channel controls clearance; the threshold manages water; and the frame holds the opening square. A generic cover that is too tall, wide, or loose can create new problems.
For an unusual system, we map the existing profile and inspect the base beneath the damaged rail. We also identify roller geometry and available panel-height adjustment. The proposed component must create a continuous running surface without obstructing the interlock, guides, frame fasteners, or drainage.
Some tracks can be locally repaired. Others accept a manufactured cap. When neither is suitable and the frame remains sound, a measured custom component may be considered. The installation is finished by servicing compatible rollers, aligning the panel, and testing movement and lock engagement.
Does a custom rail change the appearance?
The objective is a clean, integrated repair, but exact appearance depends on the original profile and feasible material. Function and safe fit come first.
